1.00
NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition
The New York International Olive Oil Competition, published with Olive Oil Times, is the largest olive-oil competition by number of entries. Judges award gold and silver and name a best in class within each style. Prestige weight 1.00 is our editorial coefficient for version 1.0, not a figure published by the organizer.
0.98
Mario Solinas Quality Award
The Mario Solinas Quality Award is organized by the International Olive Council and named after the Spanish chemist who shaped the sensory analysis of virgin olive oil. It is the most institutional prize in the category. The 0.98 weight is ours.
0.90
EVOO World Ranking
EVOO World Ranking compiles an international classification from results across many competitions. It is itself an aggregator. In this formula it is one source among others, with a prestige weight of 0.90, not the parent of this site.
0.84
Flos Olei
Flos Olei is the Italian guide to extra virgin olive oil edited by Marco Oreggia. It publishes scores rather than a single medal table. Sample records map that recognition into medal bands so the guide can enter the same formula. A real import should keep the guide score and apply a published band table.
0.80
BIOL
BIOL is an international competition focused on organic extra virgin olive oil and held in Italy. Organic certification is the entry ticket. The 0.80 weight does not judge the organic sector; it places this medal among the other sources in version 1.0.
0.78
Athena International Olive Oil Competition
Athena is an international olive-oil competition held in Greece, open to producers from any country. Prestige weight 0.78 is an editorial starting point.
0.76
Japan Olive Oil Prize
The Japan Olive Oil Prize evaluates extra virgin oils with the Japanese table in mind. It is included so a medal earned for that market is visible, at a published weight of 0.76, rather than dropped because the competition is far from the Mediterranean.
0.74
London IOOC
The London International Olive Oil Competition judges oils in the United Kingdom and publishes medal results for the international trade. Version 1.0 gives it a prestige weight of 0.74.
